Established in January 2022 under the EABC's strategic ambit, the RBAC serves as a critical mechanism to strengthen the private sector's collective efforts with RCEP Governments. Its primary aim is to boost economic recovery and ensure the effective and beneficial implementation of the RCEP agreement.
The RBAC functions as an essential advisory group, providing critical business inputs into RCEP negotiations and ongoing implementation, leveraging actionable insights derived from businesses actively utilising ASEAN+1 FTAs and the EABC Business Outlook Surveys.
RBAC's impactful activities include regular high-level business meetings, a yearly High-Level Forum for RCEP Economic and Trade Cooperation, and the diligent compilation of RCEP Certificates of Origin (COs) issued, all contributing to maximising the agreement's benefits.
Developing policy insights and recommendations on digital trade, data governance, and emerging technologies
Producing practical resources including the East Asia Customs Practices e-Book (2019) and the East Asia Investment Practice e-Book (2021), supporting smaller businesses with simplified guidance on market access and investment rules
